The OECD’s Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) ensure the generation of reliable, high quality data related to the safety of industrial chemical substances and formulations. The principles have been developed in the context of the harmonization of test procedures for mutual acceptance of data (MAD).
INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT OF THE PRINCIPLES
OF GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICE
The MAD system helps to avoid conflicting or duplicative national requirements, and provides a common basis for cooperation between national authorities.
OECD countries and all adherents have agreed that a safety test conducted in accordance with the OECD Guidelines and Principles of Good Laboratory Practice in one OECD country must be accepted by other OECD countries for evaluation purposes.
